The Marabastad bus terminus in 1973 - and more than thirty years later it remains a major bus terminal. Light trucks were used to transport fruit and vegetables into Marabastad at night from outlying suppliers and were then parked to become street stalls during the day. The building in the background housed the Impala Printers which later moved to Grand Street. The building, with the chimney, is still standing.
